Synopsis

After a single night with Luca Moretti, the feared head of a crime family, Sarah gives birth to a daughter named Emma and raises her alone, working as a nanny far from the world Luca controls. What neither of them knows is that Sarah also delivered a twin son during the chaos of a hospital explosion. That boy, Simon, was found and taken in by Luca, who spent years believing he had only one child, a son with no mother in the picture. Six years pass, and the two children end up crossing paths, their resemblance to each other impossible to ignore. The moment they reach for each other is the moment the lie holding everything together begins to come apart.

DreameShort is available as a free download on both iOS and Android. The app opens with several episodes at no cost, letting you get into a series before any decision about payment comes up. From there, additional episodes are unlocked using coins, which you can earn through daily check-ins, ad viewing, and in-app tasks, or purchase directly. Episodes in this series run between one and two minutes each, so the pacing stays tight and the story moves fast across its 49 episodes. The platform also offers a subscription plan for viewers who want full access without counting coins.

What You Didn't Know About This Series

The series was directed by Sijing Yang, whose name appears in the production credits, an unusual level of directorial attribution for a short drama format where the creative team behind the camera rarely gets public recognition.
Both lead actors already had a following in the short drama space before this series. Kirby Ellwood had been praised in other vertical productions, and Tyler Scherer had appeared in other DreameShort titles, which gave the casting a built-in audience who recognized the pairing before the first episode dropped.
The child actors carry a significant portion of the story's weight. Hawk Bennett, playing Simon, was specifically singled out in viewer commentary for delivering natural, unscripted-feeling performances across his scenes, which is a difficult thing to achieve in the compressed format of a one-to-two-minute episode.
The fire that separates the twins at birth is not just a plot device. It creates a version of amnesia by circumstance, where neither parent knows the full truth, and neither child grows up with both parents, which is a structural choice that lets the story unfold its reveals across 49 episodes rather than resolving too early.
The series generated consistent clip engagement on TikTok under the hashtag MafiaKingsMissingWifeBackWithTwins, with recap and reaction videos appearing weeks after the initial release, suggesting the audience kept discovering it well past its launch window rather than concentrating engagement in the first few days.
Arielle Cartwright's role as Isabella Davis, the antagonist who complicates the reunion, gave the story a threat that comes from inside the social circle rather than from outside it, which is a structural pattern that short drama audiences tend to respond to more strongly than external villain setups.
DreameShort promoted the series across its Facebook and YouTube channels with episode-by-episode clips rather than a single trailer, releasing content from individual scenes tied to specific emotional beats. That approach kept the series visible in feeds over an extended period and matched how the audience was already discovering it through short clips.
