Synopsis

It begins with a chance encounter. Lyra, a human, ends up spending one intense night with Kael, the Dragon King, and for a moment the gap between their worlds seems like something they could cross. Then someone plants a false prophecy in Kael's ear, and he swallows it whole, throwing Lyra out of his life and out of his kingdom without knowing the cost. The part he misses is the biggest one, because Lyra walks away pregnant and quietly raises their half-dragon daughter Amber on her own. The separation might have held forever if Amber had not fallen ill, leaving Lyra with no choice but to return to the one place she swore off, since the healer who can save her daughter lives inside Kael's realm. Her reappearance stirs up everything he tried to forget, and with scheming rivals circling and long-buried blood secrets rising to the surface, the two of them are pushed to decide whether the family torn apart by a lie can still be put back together.
